It is a fundraiser for Maury High School and also a fun social event.

  • How can I help with the auction?

There are many ways to support the Maury Auction. You can volunteer to help plan the auction or to work at it on the day it happens. You can become an auction sponsor for as little as $50. (For a listing of sponsorship levels and benefits, see the Sponsorship Form.) You can also donate items or gift certificates to be sold at the auction and encourage others to do the same.

  • How do the auctions funds benefit the school?

The Maury Booster Association will distribute all funds raised to Maury High. Part of the proceeds will go directly to the school teams and clubs that create theme baskets for the auction as well as the school's academic departments. A portion of the proceeds will also provide grants for specific school needs requested by Maury's teachers, staff, coaches and club sponsors.

  • Didn't there used to be a Maury auction?

Yes. For several years the Maury High School athletic department sponsored a spring auction as a fundraiser and social event. The auction did not happen in 2005 and was revitalized in 2006 by the Maury Booster Association and expanded to benefit all of Maury High and its 2,000-plus students.

Nearly 300 people attended the latest Maury Auction. Guests included Maury parents, alumni, teachers, coaches, administrators and people who had no Maury connection but came to support the school.

Here are a few comments from auction guests:

"What a fabulous event!! Not only was it a great opportunity to raise money for the school, but it also provided a chance for parents (even alumni parents) teachers, coaches, administrators and staff to enjoy an evening together. You definitely put the 'FUN' in fundraiser!"

"The auction party was a blast... I spoke with a number of people who went that did not have a connection to the school, and they also had as good a time as we had."

"The auction was super. I have raved to everyone."

"You and your committee did a great job with the auction...In addition to holding what appeared to be a very successful fundraiser, everyone in attendance appeared to be thoroughly enjoying themselves."

"Always, always keep me on your invitation list! The auction was incredibly well organized, and I had a great time."

"Great job team! The auction was a great event...one of the best fundraisers I have been to! Congratulations and thank you for doing so much in support of education."
