Holiday Lunch 12/13/2023 Notes and Key Take-Aways:

Monica:

  • We had 4 tender trays and 1 nugget tray and just about ran out. 6 may be the magic number.

  • Many people liked the kale/brussel sprout/superfood salad bag. Julie Walsh went to HT to get more bags after we finished 4!

  • We had lots of fruit left over but I believe more was there than the sign up

  • There was extra dessert but that's ok! All went to the office on a platter.

  • We had teachers write their name on the raffle ticket instead of doing the numbers - this worked better and some teachers came back when they heard they won

  • We went through almost 3 cases of water

  • To-go containers were a new addition and made it easier for teachers who wanted to take lunch to go

  • The first lunch was almost 3 times as much as the 2nd and 3rd (in the past they were fairly equal)

  • We had lots of mac n cheese and some left over

  • We should note or include more vegetarian options - there were several asks

  • Coolers really do keep hot things hot!

  • I am not sure how the character day theme came about but maybe we could incorporate that next year with the luncheon? Lots of teachers were dressed up and it added to the festivities

Julie:

·       We printed flyers and posted in the office this year.

·       We gave out around 125 raffle prizes, and it was so heartwarming to see how happy the teachers were to receive them.

·       We also made a "Santa Wish List" tree and teachers wrote out some things they would like for their classrooms. I would love to brainstorm to see how we can meet some of these needs that were written down. We came in under budget for this event and have about $700 left.

·       We also had 13 boxes of snacks leftover after all 3 lunches, so we were able to deliver them directly to 13 teachers! Ann and Christine told them they had been good this year and Santa came early.

Courtney Amazon Wish List Notes:

·      More popular items:

o   Gift Card denominations of $15 and $25

o   Snacks: Goldfish, Poptarts. Nutri Grain bars, Pringles, Ritz PB crackers, fruit snacks

o   Cleaning supplies: Wipes, Swiffer mop

o   Chromebook chargers

o   Gift cards from local businesses also very popular
